how I got Here
I went from hating Finland to loving it
I was that girl who dreamed of escaping, chasing big cities, crazy adventures, and anything that felt more exciting than my little homeland. Finland? It seemed too small, too cold, and honestlyโฆ too boring.
But then, everything flipped.
I can pinpoint exactly when it all changed. Two moments really stand out. The first was when I was an au pair in Spain. It was my first taste of living abroad, and wow, it made me see my home country through a totally new lens. I was finally able to appreciate Finlandโs quiet beauty in a way I hadnโt before.
But the real shift happened during the 2020 lockdown. Stuck here with nowhere to go, I was forced to explore. And thatโs when it clicked. I started discovering what makes Finland so incredibleโour untouched nature, the sense of peace you can find just about anywhere, and the four seasons, each one so beautifully different from the next.
Now? I honestly canโt imagine living anywhere else.
Itโs funny how life works, right? What once felt like the thing I had to escape from is now the thing I hold closest to my heart.
