So in case you didn’t know… 👇🏼 Finland So in case you didn’t know… 👇🏼 Finland is full of churches. Like, you’ll find one in pretty much every town. And me? I’m not exactly out here hunting them down. I don’t know why, they just don’t really fascinate me. So when my mom said “let’s go check out this chapel,” I was like… okay cool, another stone church that looks like all the others 🙃 But she said the architecture is actually really cool and kind of stunning, so I was in. It already looked kind of cool from the outside, but the inside blew me away. It’s absolutely stunning. And tell me I’m not the only one who thinks it looks like a boat?? ⛵️ Still not gonna become a full-time church explorer (😅) BUT this was such a cool hidden gem, which I just had to share here as well. It's definitely one of the most unique ones I’ve seen in Finland. 📍The place is called Saint Henry’s Ecumenical Art Chapel and it’s not your typical church. It’s a modern art chapel where architecture, art, and spirituality come together in the coolest way. Would you explore a place like this? This is the ultimate summer experience ☀️ As This is the ultimate summer experience ☀️ As a local, this is my absolute favorite part of the summer. When I finally get to go to our family’s summer cottage ✨ It’s the highlight I look forward to all through the dark, freezing winter. And honestly? I think this is something every traveler needs to experience at least once. You get a little taste of how locals actually do summer in Finland, not just city cafés and pretty nature spots, but this: 🪵A quiet cottage (probably made of wood) 🧖🏼‍♀️A sauna, always 🌲 Forest all around you. No traffic. No neighbors. Just peace. 🌞 Long lazy days where nothing is scheduled 📵 No distractions. Maybe no Wi-Fi. And weirdly? You won’t miss it. Like a true Finn 😅 So, you’re planning a summer trip to Finland? Amazing! 👏🏼 Swimming in the sea? Double amazing! 👏🏼👏🏼 BUT… here comes the plot twist. Our waters in Finland? They might still be a bit chilly in JULY. Yup. Middle of summer and you’re still mentally prepping for that first dip. If you hate cold water (like I do 🙋‍♀️), getting in might take you a while. You might even scream. Or cuss. Or both. (No judgment, because I did too 😂) And for context, this was BEFORE the heatwave hit Finland, so yes, it’s a tiny bit better now.
