I’ve been exploring my own country for the past couple of years and honestly… I’ve fallen in love with it 🥹 I’ve discovered so many spots I never even knew existed.

Cool museums, the coziest cafés, small beautiful towns… places I wish more travelers knew about when visiting Finland.

So… is Finland on your 2026 bucket list? 😊👇🏼

Ps. This Eurovision song was too good not to use here. Anyone else slightly obsessed? 🇫🇮🔥

Some people might not agree with me… 🫢 But I hone Some people might not agree with me… 🫢

But I honestly think that summer is more magical than winter ☀️ There, I said it.

And it’s not just the warmth, it’s all of this:

🌿 Nature fully coming alive after the long winter ✨️ The way everything feels greener, softer, and more alive
🥂 Long, slow evenings that make you lose track of time
🫶🏼 People spending more time outside, smiling, and connecting
😎 A more social, open atmosphere in cities and small towns
🥹 And this quiet kind of happiness you can actually feel in the air

That’s why I think summer is so damn magical in Finland 🥹🩷

If you ever visit Finland during summer, don’t just stay in the cities. Go for late evening walks, spend time by the water, take a boat trip, visit a summer market and experience those endless bright nights at least once ✨️

If you love that combination, here are some of the best rooftop terraces in Turku you should check out.

Here’s my take on these places as a local 👇🏼

📍Walo Rooftop Bar

This is probably the most popular one during summer, so it can get busy on weekends. It has gorgeous views over the Cathedral and the Market Square. You even get a preview of the view already in the elevator ride up (check my stories 👀) It also has two levels: an indoor space and the actual rooftop terrace outside. I think it's very aesthetic and lively summer spot.

📍Börs Rooftop Bar

Right next to Walo, so you get very similar views over the city center. In my opinion, a bit more elegant and stylish in vibe.

📍Kuppis Rooftop bar

A more relaxed and quiet option. It's located a bit further from the city center, so the views are not as iconic as the others, but the atmosphere is peaceful. It’s part of a hotel and train station building, so it’s also super easy to reach if you’re arriving in Turku by train.

💬 If you’re planning your Finland trip, I also have a free guide with everything first-timers should know. You can find it in my bio or comment “GUIDE” and I’ll send it to you 🫶🏼

Summer cafés in Finland have finally opened their doors for the season and I couldn’t be more excited 😍 These places are so cozy and peaceful, as most of them are located away from busy city life, surrounded by nature or small towns.

🗓 These cafés are usually open from May till September (but always check the opening hours on their website as they may vary).

🌿 With many of them, you can combine the visit with a walk or a small day trip, as they’re usually located close to nature or in small towns.

☀️ During sunny weather or weekends they can get quite busy, so going earlier in the day or on a weekday is often a better experience.

☕️ Compared to city cafés, these are often more hidden, smaller in scale, and very seasonal, which is part of their charm

🌸 Most of these cafés focus on a slow, cozy atmosphere with homemade treats. They’re not meant to be rushed, but to sit, relax, and enjoy the surroundings.

👋🏼 Follow along @heifromfinland for more hidden gems and summer spots in Finland.

Ps. You can probably tell from my outfit that it wasn’t really summer weather when we visited 😅 but I can’t wait to go back when it’s a bit warmer!

Every time the sun comes back and we get those first real summer days, the cities just completely change ✨️ People come out more, terraces fill up with locals enjoying coffee and long conversations, and ice cream stands suddenly reappear on every corner 🫶🏼🥹

The past few days have finally started to feel like summer and Turku feels so full of life again ☀️
